Project Overview
The North Canterbury Hunting Competition is one of the biggest events on the North Canterbury calendar, three days of competition and community at the Rotherham Show Grounds every July. It’s grown fast, and every dollar it raises goes straight back into the local community, from Rotherham School to the town’s community pool. They needed a website that could handle that growth: sell out entries, showcase sponsors, and give the event the presence it deserves.
What We Did
We designed and built a custom WordPress website that captures the energy of the event while making it easy for hunters to find what they need and enter. We worked closely with the North Canterbury Hunting Competition committee to write the site copy, including a full rules and categories overhaul. The result is a site that feels every bit as bold as the competition itself, while still being simple to navigate for entrants, sponsors, and the wider community.
Key Features
- Bold, custom homepage design that captures the scale and energy of the event
- Site copy written in close collaboration with the committee, covering the competition story, categories, and rules
- Categories and rules pages kept current and easy to follow for entrants
- Clear entry pathway so hunters can get their team signed up fast
- Dedicated sponsors page to recognise the businesses backing the event
- Mobile optimised design for entrants checking details on the go
Results
The North Canterbury Hunting Competition now has a website that matches the scale of the event, bold, community-driven, and built to handle demand as entries fill up fast every year. It clearly tells the competition’s story, makes entering simple, and gives sponsors the recognition they deserve, all while supporting an event that puts every cent back into North Canterbury.
